We are pleased to announce that we have provided Cinnamon AI's high-precision AI-OCR "Flax Scanner HUB" to Kamigumi Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture; President and CEO: Yoshihiro Fukai; hereinafter "Kamigumi"), a leading port logistics company.

As one of Japan's largest port logistics companies, Kamigumi offers a wide range of comprehensive logistics services, including port transportation, warehousing, and international transport. At the site of international logistics, a variety of trade documents such as invoices are generated during customs clearance and shipping operations, and many of these documents are complex and unstructured, which has led to issues such as the time required for manual data entry into core systems and the dependency on individual personnel for the work.

To help resolve these issues and improve operational efficiency and productivity, we provided Kamigumi with our "Flax Scanner HUB" AI-OCR generation and extraction platform. This implementation automatically reads invoices (trade documents), which are often received in paper or PDF format, using AI to extract over 30 pieces of information with high accuracy, including the name of the customer, quantity, and price. The data output in CSV format is seamlessly integrated with Kamigumi's core system, resulting in improved data entry efficiency and standardization of operations.

This will significantly reduce the burden of data entry and confirmation work, which was previously done manually, improving work speed and accuracy, and creating a system that allows human resources to focus on core operations. By leveraging the flexibility and scalability of "Flax Scanner HUB™" and supporting its expansion into further business areas, we will contribute to strengthening Kamigumi's competitiveness in international logistics and accelerating digital transformation.

We offer Flax Scanner HUB, our original, highly versatile, high-precision AI-OCR platform, which enables AI to understand meaning and read data from documents in various formats used in a variety of industries and sectors with human-like accuracy. Conventional AI-OCR systems primarily use a "coordinate-defined" approach, where data is predefined for formatted documents, but this makes it difficult to handle documents with countless formats. In contrast, Flax Scanner HUB can extract data with high accuracy even from unstructured forms that are difficult to read, without requiring complex pre-configuration. It features three different AI engines: coordinate-defined, feature learning, and generative AI extraction, and reads data in the optimal way for each type of form.

"Flax Scanner HUB" is not only available as a low-cost, easy-to-deploy multi-tenant type, but can also be used in more secure environments such as single tenant or on-premise (private cloud). It can also be integrated with APIs, and supports functionality expansion such as automatic determination of extraction methods such as classification and division for each document, as well as customization of AI models and UI.
