We are pleased to announce that we have introduced Cinnamon AI's AI-OCR platform "Flax Scanner HUB" to Kanematsu Corporation's accounting system.

Kanematsu, a general trading company with global operations, has been strengthening the functionality of its accounting system as part of its digital transformation efforts, and has been adopting our "Flax Scanner HUB" since December 2023. Kanematsu had an issue with the fact that accounting tasks such as checking the validity of payments, inputting information into the accounting system, circulating vouchers output from the accounting system, and verifying vouchers still required human-centered confirmation and paper circulation.

With the introduction of Cinnamon AI's "Flax Scanner HUB," we have been able to utilize AI in these operations, thereby achieving significant improvements in operational efficiency. Going forward, we will consider expanding the use of "Flax Scanner HUB" to promote digital transformation throughout the Kanematsu Group, including its affiliated companies.

■Post-processing of data

For frequently occurring items with clear correct data, such as client company names, client addresses, financial institution names, financial institution branch names, and deposit types, correct data can be registered in the dictionary in advance to recognize and automatically correct erroneous conversions made by AI-OCR. This reduces the need for manual corrections.

■ Cinnamon AI's "Flax Scanner HUB" can also be used for forms and can be introduced to a wide range of business processes

"Flax Scanner HUB" is an AI-OCR platform that allows the use of three different AI-OCR types: coordinate definition type, feature learning type, and generative AI extraction type. By integrating generative AI into our original high-precision AI-OCR engine "Flax Scanner," it is now possible to read data with high accuracy from non-standard forms that are difficult to read without coordinate definition, and quickly extract the information necessary for business. The feature learning type and generative AI extraction type do not require prior coordinate definition, and can utilize a variety of forms in one stop, including the form-specific AI-OCR general-purpose model and individual company-specific customized models that we have developed so far. The generative AI extraction type improves the accuracy of information extraction by repeatedly using and learning from accumulated data by the AI, and also allows the use of the no-code learning function (few-shot learning*), which enables accuracy improvement from a small amount of learning data, even in business where there is not much learning data.

"Flax Scanner HUB" is an AI-OCR platform that can be used in a wide range of industries and businesses. In addition to providing the system with a UI or API only, we can also propose customization such as detailed tuning settings. We will promote the expansion of its introduction to international logistics companies, forwarders, shippers (manufacturers/trading companies, etc.), insurance companies (non-life insurance), banks, etc. that handle trade documents with many industry-specific forms.
