Providing AI-OCR technology for Kawasaki Kisen's ship berth time calculation (Laytime calculation)
Our company extracts the necessary information from the Statement of Fact developed by Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. for cargo vessels operating domestically and overseas, and creates a statement of demurrage and early delivery charges (Laytime Statement). We are pleased to announce that we have provided Cinnamon AI's AI-OCR technology to "CHRONUS", a system that automatically creates images.

The Statement of Fact, which is widely used around the world, contains details about cargo handling, such as the name of the ship and the dates and times of port stays. However, this Statement of Fact is created in a different format (non-standard form) for each port and shipper, so in the conventional creation of a Laytime Statement, chronological records of cargo handling operations are manually transferred to a spreadsheet software. We needed to calculate the berth time. Furthermore, creating a Laytime Statement requires expertise gained through experience, as the calculation method differs depending on the weather and length of stay, and transcription work is a so-called "individual" process, with differences in work time and accuracy depending on the person in charge. There was a problem that it turned into "business".
Our strength lies in feature learning AI-OCR technology that automatically extracts necessary information from unstructured data.
