We provided Mitsubishi Corporation with "AI Transformation and Corporate Culture Transformation Training."
- Approximately 70 managers participated in a one-day program that covered everything from articulating their "will" to creating an AI agent. -
As part of a leadership development program for department managers at Mitsubishi Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter referred to as Mitsubishi Corporation), our company conducted an AI transformation training program titled "AI and Business Transformation - Will and AI."
This training program is a restructured version of the "AI Transformation and Corporate Culture Transformation Training" program for next-generation leaders, which Cinnamon AI began offering in April of this year, specifically tailored for Cinnamon AI. Approximately 70 department managers from the company participated in the training in a hybrid format, with both in-person attendance and live streaming.

■ Rethinking AI from a "target to implement" to a "management resource"
While generative AI and AI agents are becoming established as infrastructure for corporate activities, many companies face the challenge that AI utilization is limited to operational efficiency and does not lead to business or organizational transformation. Mitsubishi Corporation views AI not as a tool for operational efficiency (+AI), but as a "management resource" (AI+) that creates new value. It aims to redesign business processes and transform business models through generative AI, and is also promoting the development of next-generation leaders.
Cinnamon AI believes that defining the clarity of "will" within an organization is crucial, as well as technology and tools, in order to connect generative AI to business transformation. Therefore, the training was designed around the perspective of repositioning AI as a management resource on par with human resources. This training was implemented because Cinnamon AI's unique AI strategy, "Knowledge Loop," which circulates and utilizes internal knowledge as a management resource, aligned with Mitsubishi Corporation's policy on AI utilization.
■ Training Content
In the first half of the presentation, Cinnamon AI CEO Hirano, drawing on his experience as a business leader who has personally utilized AI to drive business transformation, explained the concept of designing the roles of humans and AI by dividing them into "will layer, judgment layer, and execution layer." He also presented three types of decision-making design: "rules" that can be reduced to conditional branching, "trade-offs" where multiple values clash, and "exceptions" that are unprecedented. He explained how to articulate the line between what should be entrusted to AI and what should be handled by humans. Furthermore, he introduced the structure of a "knowledge loop," in which documents lying dormant within the company are prepared, incorporated, searched for, and utilized, and that data is then returned to the organization's knowledge base, using actual company examples.
The second half of the session was structured as a hands-on session where participants actively engaged with the technology. After sharing an overview of the technologies and tools surrounding generative AI and AI agents, the latest use cases from leading overseas companies, and practical methods for engaging in high-quality dialogue with LLMs, participants actually created AI agents tailored to their own work. Finally, our Chairman and Chief Sustainability Development Officer, Mr. Kaji, gave a macro-level explanation of the challenges surrounding AI at the global, Japanese, and corporate levels, taking into account Japan's growth strategy and the trends in the Basic Plan for AI, and concluded with a Q&A session.
As a pre-training assignment, participants were asked to create a workflow for tasks they were responsible for, including their lifelong aspirations, three decision-making criteria for their daily work, and their personal goals. On the day of the training, participants referred to their pre-training assignments to categorize each step of their work into "execution" and "decision-making" processes, visualized which aspirations each step influenced, and then connected this to the design of an AI agent. Cinnamon AI's unique "paper airplane method," which involves condensing intentions into short phrases for verification, was also put into practice at the venue.
■Participant feedback (excerpts)
"This was an opportunity to think deeply not only about the latest trends in generative AI and AI agents, but also about the roles of humans and organizations in the age of AI. What was particularly impressive was the idea that the purpose of using AI is not merely to improve work efficiency, but to enhance uniquely human values such as 'will' and 'judgment.' I want to work towards fostering a culture that embraces the use of AI."
"Through this multifaceted training, which covered everything from macro-level perspectives to practical on-site applications, my understanding of AI has deepened dramatically. I also gained numerous practical insights directly applicable to business management."
"This training provided a valuable opportunity to re-evaluate generative AI not merely as a tool for improving work efficiency, but as a partner that fundamentally redesigns the way we conduct business and management."
"Combining lectures and hands-on sessions provided a great opportunity not only to understand AI as knowledge, but also to consider how to integrate it into work and decision-making. In particular, it prompted us to reconsider not just 'what AI can do,' but also 'what role should humans and organizations play as AI's capabilities expand.'"
■Future developments
Cinnamon AI's purpose is to "create a future where human will is realized through the power of AI," and it is promoting the "AI-Ready" transformation of Japanese industries. This training program is offered in three levels: for senior management, for next-generation leaders, and for the entire company, and can be customized according to the size of the company and its management challenges. Moving forward, we will continue to support the business and organizational transformation of Japanese companies based on the knowledge we have cultivated in the field of AI implementation.
